Dr.Sonia is pursuing M.D Dermatology in Delhi and Dr. Mayank is pursuingM.Ch. Plastic Surgery in Chandigarh. As our wedding dates were finalised and westarted to plan the wedding, the unforeseen lockdown set in and with a lot ofdisappointment, we decided to postpone the wedding. But as the things easeddown in few months, we mustered up courage to go ahead with an intimatewedding. Having always dreamt of a palace wedding, Mayank introduced us to theAmar Mahal, located in beautiful city of Orchha. Orchha means “hidden palace”was true to its name as it had the most beautiful palaces. Built on acres ofmounted land overlooking the magnanimous cenotaphs and the river Betwa, thispalace depicted royalty. We couldn’t think of any better place for our D-Day.
Being medical professionals and staying in different cities, itwasn't easy for us to plan a Royal destination wedding amidst thepandemic. However, where there's a will, there is a way. Narrowing down from300 people to just 50 was hard to come in terms with at the first, buteventually we realized, it’s the wedding that matters and the blessing of ournear and dear ones would always be there with us. Sneaking out time from ourhectic duties, a few weeks before the D-Day, we ourselves planned every detailfrom décor to sound and food taking into consideration the safety of eachguest.
Having just 20 days in hand, we had to start everything from thescratch. Yes, we risked our heath and hopped all around Delhi to choose the bestoutfits for each event from best of the places. Also, it was heart-warming toreceive my dream lehenga in just 20 days. It was named as “Noori Lehenga”,based on pure raw silk and embroided with gota patti,nakshi, zardosi,resham,sequins, aari, kasab, marori and pearls. Having planned a short affairof one and a half days, we dint want to compromise on any function. Thus it wasfully packed schedule with 6 functions on the day before the wedding day. Tolook royal and yet flawless, we chose a renowned Kanpur based makeupartist(Priyanka Gupta) who made me look ethereal. To capture every moment anddocument this exceptional lockdown wedding for lifetime, we chose the Kamalproductions and still can’t thank Devansh for the fantastic shots.
Our wedding was unique as the location was breathtakingly beautiful andit was attended by the close family and friends who made us feel so special andrejoice each moment. Having our early morning varmala at the most famous RamRaja temple made it more special. Nonetheless, the beautiful weather withdrizzles added a charm to our day-wedding making it a moment to remember forlifetime. In those one and a half days, we felt like King and Queen in our ownworld and pledged to hold our hands and live in our kingdom of love andhappiness.
We enjoyed every bit of our intimate wedding with the blessings of ourfamilies, friends and Almighty. Heartfelt thanks to everyone for pouring in allthe love and making it happen. In the end it’s all about working out the bestin worst of the times. #MS forever
